TalkScribe Version 1.02 Released 10/1/97!

A maintenance version of TalkScribe was released October 1, 1997. The newly released Version 1.02 incorporates a bug fix which eliminates an installation problem reported by some Windows 3.1x users. Several other minor bug fixes were also included in the Version 1.02. For a detailed list of changes, download the release notes.

As of now, October 7, 1997, the new TalkScribe Version 1.02 is available at the download links shown below. This new version is expected to be available at numerous other download sites within the next few days.

  • To download Version 1.02 TalkScribe (this is the latest version, approximately 1.4 MBytes), click one of the download links below:

  • To use the downloaded file, follow these steps:

    1. copy it into an empty directory
    2. decompress it (see below)
    3. from your Windows 3.1x Program Manager, or Windows 95 Start menu, Run file TLKSC102.EXE and follow the instructions on your screen.


    Decompress Utilities

    To decompress the program files, use the Windows program called WinZip, or DOS-based PKZip. If you don't have either of these on your computer, you can get one by clicking on one of the following links:

    After the download is finished, run the downloaded file to install the decompression program on your computer.


    TalkScribe is shareware

    The downloadable files offered here contain a demo version of TalkScribe. This demo version is fully functional except that the length of sound files it will handle is limited to about 3 minutes. This limitation may be removed by registering TalkScribe according to the instructions available within the demo version. Upon payment of a registration fee of $29, you will be sent a registration code which will unlock the full features of the program.
